Golden West Security Training Programs and Procedures

Golden West Security Officers are highly trained Professionals in the Security Industry.  In addition to the forty hours of continued education mandated by BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services), Golden West Security officers receive training on a bi-monthly basis.

Post Orders & Procedures
Before any of our officers assume their duties, they are thoroughly trained on their Post Orders and Procedures. In addition to on-the-job training, Golden West Security officers also have written Post Orders issued to them. Those Post Orders also contain procedures on following up on assistance calls by our clients.

Daily Activity Reports
During the course of a Golden West Security officer’s shift, they are required to complete a Daily Activity Report as they go. A Daily Activity Report assists us and our clients in tracing our officers’ routines and helping to follow up on incidents that require additional investigation. Daily Activity Reports are available to our clients upon request.

Field Incident Reports
Whenever a Golden West Security Officer encounters anything out of his or her routine, they are required to complete a Field Incident Report.  These reports may involve things such as:

  • Graffiti
  • Trespassers
  • Fire Lane Violators
  • Assistance Calls

The Field Incident Reports are faxed to our clients within 24 hours. Any major incidents are reported immediately.

Golden West Security officers are trained extensively in many areas – some having to do with sensitive subjects, such as “Handling Difficult People,” and others that help officers understand the finite details of legal issues, such as “False Imprisonment.”

Radio Communications
All Golden West Security officers are equipped with a cellular-based radio for staying in constant communication with Golden West Security’s state-of-the-art Dispatch Center as well as the watch commander on duty.  Golden West Security radios are capable of group-based communication as well as receiving division or company-wide notification.

GPS Routing
Golden West Security Patrol and Alarm Response Officers are the “elite” of Golden West Security. Not only are they trained in Alarm Response and Patrol Procedures on a continuous basis, but they are also equipped with Digital Radios, GPS and Scanning Devices.

The GPS systems allow Golden West Security’s 24-hour state-of-the-art Dispatch Center to pinpoint the nearest Alarm Response officer, resulting in reduced alarm response times. The GPS also ensures the Golden West Security Patrol officers’ safety by directing back-up units and law enforcement to the officers’ locations.

Field Evaluations – Officer of the Month, Officer of the Year
During Field Evaluations, additional training is provided in the event that any short-comings were found in previous monthly evaluations.

In addition to monthly Field Evaluations, each individual Golden West Security officer receives monthly Uniform & Equipment Inspections, Safety Protocol Inspections, Security Industry Training, and Safety Training.

Officers also have the opportunity to attain the Officer of the Month award or Officer of the Year award.  Strict guidelines must be met to achieve either award, such as perfect attendance, going above and beyond their duties, loyalty, and more.
